Creating a Flexible Design System to Streamline EDB.gov.sg Content and Accessibility

The Economic Development Board’s website needed to balance authority with accessibility—showcasing Singapore as a bold, forward-looking business hub while remaining human and legible. I supported the visual direction through image curation, iconography, and refined on-screen typography, establishing a clear hierarchy with Roboto Slab and Metropolis. The result: a cohesive, responsive web experience that communicated EDB’s role with clarity, warmth, and precision across all devices.

  • A cohesive, reusable design framework for EDB.gov.sg that could handle complex, data-heavy content while remaining accessible and user-friendly.

  • Audited the existing site, benchmarked government best practices, and developed a flexible design system—refining typography, spacing, grids, and micro-interactions in collaboration with UX and content teams.

  • A scalable, responsive design system applied across hundreds of pages, improving content consistency, readability, and accessibility while reducing future maintenance time for developers.

Impact & Recognition

The redesigned EDB site delivered a streamlined, intuitive user journey that empowered business audiences to quickly access key information and services. The project went on to place Top 3 for both “Best Usability (Government)” and “Most User-Centric Website” at the Digital Services Awards, a recognition of its clear layouts, accessible interfaces, and human-centred digital experience.
