Pour Choices Taphouse
Bringing Pour Choices Online: A Live Tap Menu Experience
Pour Choices, a craft beer and sports bar, wanted a digital home that captured their irreverent, community-first spirit — and showcased all 24 rotating taps in real time. The site had to integrate live data while staying visually bold and intuitive for beer lovers who just wanted to find their next pint.
I led the UI design and art direction, developing a responsive site that balanced chaotic, pub-style charm with usability. Collaborating with developers, I helped implement an automated DigitalPour API integration that synced live tap updates directly to the site.
The new experience boosted average session times by 18% within the first month, with over 60% of users checking tap menus from mobile devices before visiting in person.

Styled live beer listings from the DigitalPour API to highlight 24 rotating taps in an engaging, easy-to-browse format.
Real-time beers. Real-time good times.
To balance function and fun, I developed a modular design system using bold typographic hierarchies, warm tones, and subtle grain textures inspired by bar chalkboards and coaster prints. The goal was to make the interface feel handcrafted yet seamless.
Each element — from iconography to the animated beer foam progress bars — was tested to ensure the visuals didn’t slow performance. Partnering closely with developers, we optimized image assets and implemented real-time sync for 24+ tap listings via the DigitalPour API.
As users scroll, hand-drawn bubbles and sports ball illustrations animate upward to create a lively, interactive effect that enhances visual engagement.
The final launch reflected the bar’s friendly identity while delivering the clarity users needed.
The site became an easy go-to for patrons deciding where to catch a game or what to drink next — effectively turning Pour Choices’ personality into a functional, memorable brand experience.
Since launch, the site’s real-time updates have saved staff hours weekly in manual tap list management, and user retention has continued to grow month over month.
